Duston Fun Day 2017
Thank you for joining us at our Duston Fun Day. A great day out for all the family. Well done to our local community groups who raised £2611.25 for their chosen charities. See our gallery for more pictures of the day
A fabulous day out for all the family, provided a great mix of activities and entertainment.
The main marquee was where you would find craft stalls and local community groups who ran fun activities.
There was live craft demonstrations, a photographic display and competition and an art exhibition.
We held Competitions!
Categories were:
Best Summer Sponge - All ages
Bring your showstopper sponge decorated with a summer theme - judged by our very own Jenni from Duston Village Bakery
Jolliest Jar of Flowers - 16 yrs and under
Fresh or made from any craft materials
Juiciest Jar of Jam - All ages
Homemade, any flavour
Sunniest Seaside Picture - 8 yrs and under
Any style or craft medium
In the parish tent there was an opportunity to meet the councillors and see what your Parish Council is all about.
Our youth worker was also there with a range of activities you could get involved with to help us commemorate the WW1 Centenary.
On the field were more stalls, cream teas & traditional games. Many joined in our spinney bug hunt and tried out their acting skills with our very own Duston Players.
Free entertainment on the stage with the Silly Soapy magic show and live music from Sara Spade and the Noisy Boys plus much more.
RSPCA hosted a dog show
Test your skills and strength in the park area with our free sports tasters and Tug of War
We were delighted that The Original Pizza Box servedtheir incredible wood fired pizzas on the day and GJ Catering with a BBQ and pulled pork, candy floss and popcorn
